Singaporean shipping company X-Press Feeders has included the Port of Klaipėda in its shipping route that will be served by containerships powered by green methanol.
The Eco Umande, a vessel powered by this sustainable fuel, entered the gates of Klaipėda Port for the first time on September 16 and is set to visit the port every second week.
Algis Latakas, CEO of the Port of Klaipėda Authority, said: “Today, the Port of Klaipėda marks an important historical moment – the arrival of Eco Umande, the first green methanol-powered vessel that will regularly operate in the port.
