The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded a US$2.5m grant to develop and demonstrate advances in fuel cell technology at the Port of Oakland.
Part of the Biden/Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the total project cost will be over US$7m and is part of the port’s effort to transport all aspects of maritime operations to zero emissions.
Port of Oakland executive director Danny Wan said: “We are working non-stop towards achieving the goal of becoming a zero-emissions port.
