AP Moller-Maersk has announced the naming of its latest dual-fuel methanol container vessel for its fleet as Alexandra Maersk at the Port of Felixstowe.
Alexandra Maersk is the sixth vessel in Maersk’s fleet capable of sailing on methanol in its main and auxiliary engines and is the fifth ship is a series of 18 large dual-fuel methanol vessels scheduled for delivery in 2024 and 2025, each with a capacity of more than 16,000 teu.
The vessel is named after Alexandra Maersk-Moller, who was an older sister of Mr AP Moller, the founder of the company.
