STS crane collapses at Keelung Port after collision with vessel

A ship-to-shore (STS) crane has collapsed after the Yuzhou Qi Hang vessel collided with the equipment during the delivery of new cranes on October 14 for the China Container Terminal Corporation. 

The company confirmed in a statement that the machine was not in operation and was waiting to be replaced by the new crane, so no casualties occurred from the incident, but one container was reportedly damaged. 

All equipment and cargo impacted were fully insured and the local authorities will carry out an investigation into how the accident took place.
