SC Ports to reach 10m teu of capacity, according to CEO
Expansion plans for South Carolina Ports (SC Ports) Leatherman Terminal, which recently reopened, are underway as confirmed by SC Ports president and CEO Barbara Melvin who states Charleston Harbor is on the cusp of 10m teu capacity.
The expansion plans include an additional 1,600 ft berth on top of the current 1,400 ft berth, providing a total of 3,000 berth space for mega container ships.
Upon full buildout, Leatherman Terminal will boast three berths and a total of 2.4m teu of capacity.
