Operations have begun at COSCO Shipping’s first green and smart port investment in South America, the Chancay Peru Terminal, situated approximately 78 km north of Lima.
The natural deep-water port spans 1,500 m in length with a total of four berths, including two for containers and two multi-purpose berths.
It can accommodate the largest container ships and has been designed for a capacity of 1m teu, 6m tonnes of bulk cargo and 160,00 vehicles annually.
