APMT MedPort Tangier completes expansion reaching 5m teu capacity

APM Terminals (APMT) has completed the last phase of the 2m teu expansion in MedPort Tangier to increase total capacity to 5.2m teu and 2 km berth length as part of a three-year project delivered on schedule. 

The final stage of the expansion will serve to maintain the terminal as one of the most technologically advanced, efficient and safest container terminals in the world, such as using the auto mooring system for vessel berthing, digital berth planning and the specially developed Gemini simulation tool. 

This year, an analysis by the World Bank and S&P Global ranked the Port of Tangier as the fourth most efficient container terminal in the world.
