Port of Tanjung Pelepas becomes first Malaysian terminal to exceed 12m teu in 2024
Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a joint-venture between Malaysia-based MMC Group and Netherlands-based APM Terminals (APMT), achieved in 2024 the milestone of being the first container terminal in Malaysia to handle over 12.2m teu in a single year.
The achievement surpassed PTP’s previous record of 11.2m teu set in 2021, further solidifying PTP’s position as Malaysia’s leading and largest transshipment hub.
PTP chairman Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamed Noh, said: “2024 has been nothing short of extraordinary. It is gratifying to witness how PTP has risen to the occasion, embracing challenges with courage and transforming them into opportunities for growth and innovation.
