The Port of Oakland handled 2.26m teu in 2024, representing an increase of almost 1-% over 2023, reflecting the long-term growth trend in consumer spending in the San Franciso Bay area and the rest of the country.
On the full container side, imports rose 15% last year, while exports were up just over 5% which highlights a balanced growth across key markets.
Port of Oakland maritime director Bryan Brandes said: “Consumer demand has remained resilient, driving higher import volumes through the port.
