Elcome International empowers seafarers with pay-as-you-go high speed internet

Poor wi-fi connection is detrimental to seafarer wellbeing

Elcome International has introduced a new pay-as-you-go high-speed internet service, WELCOME, which has helped more than 30,000 seafarers stay connected.

The service has options to purchase data packs or monthly plans for as little as US$1.65 per gigabyte and eliminates the need for ship managers and administrators to invest in expensive network infrastructure, distribute internet vouchers and access codes, or impose usage restrictions that limit access.

Elcome’s senior manager of connectivity, Asneed Ameer, said: “This service enables seafarers to purchase affordable data plans themselves, providing independent access without depending on the ship’s network.
