The ports of São Francisco do Sul and Itapoá have signed the contract for the dredging project to widen and deepen the access channel to Babitonga Bay.
The agreement marks the first time in Brazil that a public port has formed a partnership with a private port to carry out a project of this nature.
It marks an investment of approximately R$300m (US$53m) and will enable the docking and operation of vessels up to 366 m long.
