Hapag-Lloyd has recorded a 17% increase in profit to US$1.1bn in the first quarter of 2025 compared to last year.

In the same period, Group EBIT improved by 24% to US$500m and revenue grew by 15% to US$5.3bn.

The main drivers of this positive development were a transport volume of 3.3m teu, up 10% from 3m teu, and an average freight rate of US$1,480/teu, which was 9% higher than the same quarter in 2024 due to strong demand.
