Marking 25 years of rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, Liebherr Container Cranes has introduced an enhanced RTG portfolio designed to optimise efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance performance to ensure operators have the ideal solution to meet operational needs.
The five base models in Liebherr’s enhanced range include a fully electric RTG with a continuous power supply, requiring fixed conductor bar infrastructure (RTG-CB), a fully electric RTG with a flexible power feed, utilising a reeling drum for cable management (ERTG-CRD) and a hybrid RTG that utilises super-capacitors for energy recovery in combination with a smaller diesel generator (RTG-HC).
Additionally, the range includes a diesel-electric hybrid RTG that utilises battery energy storage, designed for optimal fuel saving and emissions reductions (RTG-GB), and the RTG-VSG, a fuel-efficient diesel RTG with optimised performance that reduces fuel consumption compared to standard diesel RTGs.
