Members of the Brazilian congress have spoken out against a restriction suggested by the National Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ) on the bidding process for the Tecon Santos 10 auction project, which awaits assessment by the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU), according to iNFRA Agency.
The structure, submitted in late May for approval by the TCU, prohibits companies that already operate in the Port of Santos from prohibiting in the first phase of the bidding process, only allowing them to participate if the initial attempt fails.
Among those resistant to the model are parliamentary groups linked to the infrastructure, in the Chamber of Deputies’ Transport and Transportation Commission (CVT), and also in official letters sent to the TCU, the Civil House and the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor), according to the iNFRA Agency.
