Konecranes delivers new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 MHC to Latvia

Stena Lines Ports Ventspils JSC in Latvia has taken delivery of its first electric Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 mobile harbour crane (MHC) as part of the port’s investment into energy-efficient equipment in line with its modernisation strategy.

The electric Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 MHC is capable of operating on electricity drawn from harbour mains and is also equipped with an onboard hybrid drive combining a diesel generator and ultracapacitors for situations where electricity is not available.

This configuration helps to significantly reduce tailpipe emissions and running costs when compared to a diesel drive.
