Port Houston has recorded a 5% increase in container volumes to 381,640 teu in May with year-to-date volumes up 4% to 1.84m teu compared to the same period last year.
During this month, both loaded container imports and exports increased by 1%, reflecting an ongoing balance in containerised trade activity in Houston.
Additionally, general cargo is up by 12% and steel imports are up by 11% year-to-date while total tonnage across all public facilities is up by 2% so far this year, reaching 22.9m tonnes through the end of May.
