Container volumes up 10% at Port of Barcelona in first half of 2025

The Port of Barcelona has recorded a 10% increase in container volumes to 721,461 teu for the first six months of 2025. 

Regarding exports, full container numbers grew by 8% to 365,062 teu with notable increases in the pork, alfalfa and Algerian market, while the 12% growth in exports to 356,399 teu was mainly concentrated in Asia. 

The notable increase in export and import containers made a decisive contribution to the uptick in turnover, which stood at €101m (US$117m), up 4% year-on-year.
