APM Terminals (APMT) Pecém, located in the state of Ceará, has seen a 38% increase in container volumes to 325,478 in the first six months of the year to break the terminal’s record over the period.
Overall port throughput also experienced significant growth reaching 6.67m tonnes, a 12% increase compared to the first half of the previous year.
In addition to strengthening Ceará’s position in Brazil’s port sector, the growth underscores APMT Pecém’s strategic role in the local production chain – especially as Ceará’s industrial sector leads national growth with a 9% increase in Q1 2025, according to Brazil’s Monthly Industrial Survey (PIM/IBGE).
