Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI), a port owned by Hanseatic Global Terminals, has inaugurated two mobile harbour cranes (MHCs) and eight reachstackers, marking a milestone in the modernisation of its operations and part of an investment plan to renew its fleet, totalling more than US$15m.
The MHCs incorporated into ITI are a Liebherr LHM 600, with a lifting capacity of 154 tonnes and a reach that allows it to serve ships with up to 20 rows of containers.
The second piece of equipment is the Konecranes Gottwald ESP.10 MHC – the largest in its portfolio – for operating containers on super-Post Panamax (SPP) ships.
