The Port of Dunkirk has launched a call for expressions of interest (CEI) for the development and operation of a new, second container terminal at the port’s western harbour.
Inclusive of 1,000 m of quay and approximately 62 ha of yard space, the new terminal is scheduled to become operational early 2029 following a development phase jointly executed by the port authority and selected operator.
At present, the Port of Dunkirk is nearing capacity with regards to container cargo as its current container terminal, which offers around 1m teu of capacity, is operating at 80%.
