Hapag-Lloyd and WiseTech Global have launched a pilot integrating the carrier’s Live Position and Live ETA data directly into the CargoWise logistics execution platform, a move that embeds container-level tracking intelligence into forwarders’ operational workflows rather than confining it to a carrier portal.
The partnership, announced 10 February, gives CargoWise users access to IoT-derived positioning and arrival estimates from the world’s fifth-largest container line, which operates a fleet of approximately 2.4m teu. For freight forwarders managing multi-carrier shipments, the integration promises to reduce reliance on fragmented tracking tools and manual status updates—though how quickly the pilot scales will determine its operational impact.
Details of the pilot’s geographic scope, the number of containers equipped, and the timeline for commercial rollout were not disclosed. The tie-up reflects a broader industry push toward platform-integrated visibility, as carriers seek to differentiate their digital offerings beyond basic track-and-trace.
