Positive 2006 for Railion Nederland

Railion benefited from a further growth in demand for rail transport from Dutch industry and transhipment companies, particularly in the transport of containers, bioethanol and steel products. Profits were enhanced by a good sales performance and strict cost control.

In order to accommodate further growth in full-load traffic, Railion introduced new direct connections to Mannheim and Nüremberg in December. At the same time, the company increased the frequency of its full-load services to Vlissingen and Lage Zwaluwe (for the Moerdijk industrial estate). Exact figures on volumes will be released during the course of this year.
