PortMiami to receive US$33m in state grants

Container volumes at PortMiami increased 21% in January

PortMiami has been allocated state grants worth a total of US$33m over the next five years to support enhancement of its cargo and cruise facilities.

A part of the grant allocations will help fund the upgrade of its cargo terminal yards as well as the development of a future inland intermodal facility.

According to a statement by the port, the funds will also be partially used to purchase three additional super post-Panamax cranes.
