Hutchison Ports Sohar has launched a new auto gate system at its container facilities at the Port of Sohar, Oman.
The new gate will use smart technologies to allow drivers to go through the gates with no documentation and avoid delays.
The system features machine-readable cards storing driver information, cameras using optical character recognition (OCR) to recognise trucks, gate kiosks reading shipping codes, and a truck ID system to improve security.
