LA and Long Beach ports set to cut emissions

Los Angeles and Long Beach mayors Eric Garcetti and Robert Garcia have signed a joint declaration in a bid to cut emissions from the ports.

The declaration set goals for the city-owned ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to move to zero emissions as part of the two cities’ Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) by introducing zero-emission yard equipment by 2030 and zero-emission drayage trucks by 2035.

The statement also committed to investing in clean technology and expanding at-berth emissions reductions, and reaffirmed a commitment to adopt the Paris Climate Agreement in their goals.
