Dunkirk awaits gantry crane as expansion kicks on

The work is expected to be complete by 2019

France’s Port of Dunkirk will receive a new gantry crane in May 2018 as part of its Flanders Terminal expansion project.

Shortly after receiving the crane the facility will begin dredging to a depth of 16.5 m, with the deepening expected to be finished by the end of autumn.

A total of 4m m3  of sand is expected to be dredged over the course of the project.
