Turkish operator Yilport has submitted an offer for the multi purpose facilities in Southern Italy’s Port of Taranto, which previously operated as Taranto Container Terminal (TCT).
The facility can handle containers, bulk and roll-on roll-off (ro-ro) cargo, but has been empty since TCT went into liquidation in 2015.
Yilport’s concession proposal, which has been received by the Ionian Sea Port Authority, includes investment and development of the terminal to increase container volumes, improve the logistics network while also handling general cargo and ro-ro traffic.
