Leading port authorities launch climate action programme

The port authorities of Antwerp, Barcelona, Hamburg, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Rotterdam and Vancouver have launched a collaborative initiative to address global warming.

The World Ports Climate Action Program is a response to the Paris Agreement, which calls signatories to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions to ensure that global warming will be limited to well below 2°C.

The new initiative aims to make a significant impact on climate action by leading collaborative projects that aim to increase the efficiency of supply chains using digital tools and advance (public) policy approaches on emission reductions within larger geographical areas.
