APM Terminals to jointly develop new terminal in Bangkok

The facility is seen as a feeder terminal

APM Terminals (APMT) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sahathai Terminal PLC (PORT) and Mitr Phol Sugar to develop a 345,000 teu capacity greenfield container terminal in Bangkok.

Bangkok River Terminal Limited (BRT) will aim to accommodate Thailand’s growing containerised import and export trade.

Maarten Degryse, managing director of APMT Inland Services, Thailand, said: “Once developed, we expect the terminal to play a critical role in lifting trade for Thailand.
