Strong results for CMA CGM although market outlook normalising

Volumes increased by 4% to 5.7m teu

CMA CGM registered a 29% year-on-year jump in EBITDA to US$9.15bn in the third quarter of the year, although the container shipping market is now normalising with spot freight rates on a downward trend.

In the maritime shipping segment, revenue was up by 26% on a year-on-year basis to US$15.7bn, but 2% below the previous quarter.

Transported volumes stood at 5.7m teu in the third quarter of the year, up 4% year-over-year, with an average revenue of US$2,771 per teu.
