New digital platform launched to improve customs processing at China-Kazakhstan border

Wee Tan Yeong, CEO of Global DTC

A new digital platform called Tez Customs is up and running, as part of a pilot project for the automatic submission and issuance of transit declarations for goods transported by rail along the routes connecting China to Central Asia and Europe.

The project was initiated and implemented by the state revenue committee of Kazakhstan’s finance ministry together with JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) and Global DTC, a member of the PSA Group.

The partners hope the solution will boost transparency and speed up and simplify custom procedures, strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as a transit hub in Eurasia.
