Georgia Ports Authority approves US$65m for Ocean Terminal improvements

Port of Savannah has had a strong start to the year

The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) has approved contracts totalling US$65.6m for container yard work at the Port of Savannah’s Ocean Terminal.

GPA’s board has approved three project components at the 200-acre facility, which is situated just downriver from GPA’s main container port.

These components include earth compacting to prepare the site to hold container stacks, the removal of a former bridge pier and preliminary utility installation behind the wharf structure.
