Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) Trust and Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Company have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to establish a sea-rail intermodal route that connects Asia with North America, Europa and other regions.

The MoC plans to strengthen collaboration across ports and logistics sectors, while promoting economic and trade exchanges between Guangxi and Hong Kong, with the partnership aiming to expedite the growth of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Beibu Gulf economic zone.

The partnership aims to boost multimodal transportation collaboration by fostering strong economic ties between Guangxi and Hong Kong and fortifying cooperation between the two regions, utlising the Beibu Golf Port as a vital link connecting the northwest over land and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area via sea.
