Hapag-Lloyd trials Inmarsat’s NexusWave service to create single network solution

Up to 400,000 tonnes of CO2e will be saved per year

Hapag-Lloyd has become one of the first companies to trial Inmarsat Maritime’s NexusWave service, which delivers a global service orchestrated by bringing together a multi-orbit, multi-band set of connectivity networks as a single network solution.

The service delivers an “office like” experience that is always connected without having to worry about usage, quota and speeds by curating various services onboard the vessel to the needs of the owner-operator while providing full transparency on total cost of ownership in one, frictionless solution.

A series of owner-operator trials aim to verify the way reliable high-speed internet connections allow critical enterprise/IT functions to move to the cloud instead of maintaining them on vessels.
