Maersk has named its newest dual-fuel methanol container vessel in Singapore the A.P. Møller in honour of Arnold Peter Møller, the founder of AP Moller-Maersk, and is the ninth ship in its fleet capable of operating on methanol.
A.P. Møller was built at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea and has a capacity of 16,592 teu.
The ship is part of a series of 18 large dual-fuel methanol vessels scheduled for delivery in 2024 and 2025 with seven of these vessels joining Maersk’s fleet this year.
