US DoD lists COSCO Shipping and CIMC as Chinese military companies
The US Department of Defense (DOD) has included COSCO Shipping and China International Marine Containers (CIMC) on a list of companies identified as Chinese military companies operating in the US.
In total, 134 companies have been placed on the sanctions to restrict economic and technological interactions with the US and limit China’s military modernisation efforts.
The DoD stated: “Updating the Section 1260H list of ‘Chinese military companies’ is an important continuing effort in highlighting and countering the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) Military-Civil Fusion strategy.
