Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI) has acquired a new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.10 mobile harbour crane (MHC), the largest to operate in Chile, to be able to move containers on super post-Panamax vessels.
The new crane will enable ITI to efficiently operate the largest ships calling on the west coast of South America, and was shipped pre-assembled on the MN AAL Hamburg from the Port of Westdorpe.
ITI’s general manager, Rodrigo Pommiez Aravena, said: “ITI plays a key role in connecting Chile to the world. This sixth-generation crane will be an excellent addition to our existing Konecranes fleet.
