The Port of Callao has inaugurated Stage 3A of the North Terminal modernisation project with a US$95m investment, led by APM Terminals (APMT) Callao in partnership with the Peruvian state.
Stage 3A delivered key infrastructure upgrades, including the paving of 2.13 ha to streamline general cargo movement, the opening of Gate No.3 for exclusive access of rolling and oversized cargo, and the installation of eight new weighbridges, doubling the terminal’s entry capacity for goods.
The North Terminal modernisation is part of a broader six-phase concession agreement between APMT Callao and the Peruvian government, with a total investment of US$1.2bn.
