Rijeka Gateway has marked the arrival of its first commercial container vessel, Al Jasrah, following months of successful trial operations during the summer that now signals the official start of the terminal’s operational phase.
The Al Jasrah measures 368 m in length and 51 m in width and arrived in Rijeka from Port Said, as part of the Asia-Europe route.
The beginning of operations comes after two years of construction and equipping of the terminal, which represents the largest private investment in logistics in Croatia, worth €380m (US$446m), resulting from a joint venture between APM Terminals (APMT) and ENNA Group.
