ICTSI’s Rio Brasil Terminal receives R$948m in investment to expand and modernise

Brazil’s minister of ports and airports has announced a new private investment of R$948m (US$175m) in works to expand and modernise International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) Rio Brasil Terminal.

The project will be executed between 2025 and 2029 at the terminal, which is situated at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, and will increase its operational capacity by almost 71% from 440,000 teu to 750,000 teu per annum.

Infrastructure works will account for R$414.4m (US$76.7m) while the remaining R$533.5m (US$ 98.8m) will go towards the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment.
