Main Manila terminal upgrades TOS

The Philippines Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) has upgraded its terminal operating system (TOS) to Navis N4 3.4 as part of an US$80m improvement project.

MICT, operated by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), announced the project after handling more than 2m teu in 2016, a company milestone.

Mark Welles, vice president and general manager for Asia, said: “The ability to foresee the rise of mega ships coming to the Port of Manila and the evolving customer needs as a result, has enabled the terminal to stay two steps ahead and plan its technology requirements accordingly.”
