Hutchison Ports launches new rail service from Barcelona to Lyon

Hutchison Ports has launched a weekly international rail service that connects its Barcelona Europe South Terminal (BEST) with Lyon in order to develop Barcelona’s hinterland connections.

The service makes BEST the only container terminal in Spain that offers direct rail services to shippers in European countries with UIC gauge and the service will gradually increase in frequency over the coming months.

It is part of a one-stop-shop solution being offered, among others, by the terminal’s rail operator, Synergy, available to carriers, freight forwarders and cargo owners which aims to minimise supply chain risks.
