Seen as the prime reason behind growth revival, the new facilities in Port 2000 have achieved significant increases in 2007 with 760,000 teu being handled in Terminal de France while the Terminal Porte Océane, which only started operation in late November 2007, had handled 11,300 teu in the remaining five weeks of the year.
Dry bulk also rose by 31% to 4.8m tonnes, with volumes being boosted by the growth of coal traffic which accounts for half the tonnage.
