SPRC is the fifth terminal in the world to deploy the solution, and the first to implement its data mart feature. With a culture of running business based on concrete data, SPRC implemented these applications to enhance its ability to monitor real-time performance and analyze historical operational data so as to make better business and operational decisions.
SPRC manages the infrastructure, facilities and port logistics services in the Port of Cartagena in Cartagena, Colombia which handles more than 850,000 teu annually. According to Zebra, through the use of Navis Monitor and Analytics, SPRC can better analyze productivity and throughput trends, identify areas of improvements; as well as determine how well vessel operation performed against plan, and track yard utilization. SPRC also plans to integrate the software’s data mart with data from its other applications such as invoicing, maintenance and repair.
“Prior to working with ZES, we used a home grown system to collect data and information at the terminal,” said Eduardo Bustamante, IT director at SPRC. “Now that we are using Navis Monitor and Analytics, we will be able to get more detail and accurate information that will allow us to continuously improve operational productivity. Ultimately, we expect to lower costs, improve customer service, and enhance our negotiation power”
