DCT Gdansk

DCT Gdansk has finalised the financing process for the construction of a new deep-water berth, with a group of commercial and development banks to finance the investment and provide up to €290m for the project. NV Besix SA has been appointed as general contractor.

The second facility in DCT Gdansk, by volume the biggest container terminal  in the Baltic area, will be fully operational in 2016, allowing the terminal to meet growing demand for deep-sea services in Central-Eastern Europe. The new 650 m long berth will increase DCT’s annual handling capacity to up to 3m teu in the first stage of construction.

The new berth at will be able to handle ultra large container vessels of capacity exceeding 18,000 boxes. It will be equipped with five ship-to-shore cranes and the required additional yard equipment.
