WSC elects new chair and vice chair

The World Shipping Council (WSC) board of directors has elected Soren Toft, CEO of MSC, as its new chair and Randy Chen, vice chairman of Wan Hai Lines, as its new vice chair on a two-year term effective immediately. 

Both succeed Rolf Habben Jansen, Hapag-Lloyd CEO, and Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, after they completed two terms as co-chairs, starting in November 2020. 

Toft has been CEO of MSC since December 2020 and oversees all global cargo businesses including the ocean liner MSC, the logistics activities of MEDLOG, the MSC Air Cargo planes, through to the towage activities of MedTug and Log-in Logistica among others.
