Tanger Med Port has increased container volumes by 19% to handle 10.24m teu in 2024, made possible by the strengthening of certain facilities, commissioning of new equipment, and the optimisation of maritime calls, which helped reduce waiting and manoeuvering times.
The performance is the result of the trust and commitment of port operators and shipping lines, as well as the high productivity levels achieved by all teams, the port authority noted.
The Port Complex handled a total of 142m tonnes of goods last year, representing a 16% increase, and more than 17,000 maritime calls were recorded, up 3% on 2023.
