Konecranes introduces E-Hybrid RTG and electric ECH on a global scale
Konecranes has announced its new E-Hybrid rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) crane and electric empty container handler (ECH) for the global market at TOC Europe in Rotterdam.
The new electronic variants put the Finnish manufacturer one step closer to its goal of having fully electric variants of its entire port equipment portfolio by 2026.
Konecranes’ new E-Hybrid RTG expands the meaning of hybrid power beyond traditional diesel-battery RTG operation, a vital option for terminals currently unable to drop diesel power given the need for back-up if blackouts occur.
