Cavotec to deliver the Maldives’ first shore power system

It will be the first of its kind in the Maldives

Cavotec has signed an order from Mothan Mutha Group to supply shore power systems in the Maldives, making an important step in the country’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions in its ports.

This marks the first shore power installation in the Maldives and will enable vessels calling at the port to connect to electrical power while berthed, eliminating berth emissions and reducing the use of auxiliary engines.

Local air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions are cut through this system, which also helps to extend the operational lifespan of vessel engines.
