Innovation award for ABPmer

The Severn plan, produced with the help of technical consultancy firms Jacobs Babtie and Royal Haskoning, was one of only 12 projects out of 98 shortlisted for the award.

Project manager Dr Natalie Frost said: “We have spent over a year working on this project, which examined the way in which the Severn Estuary coastal habitats will evolve over the next century. The information from this project will be used to generate a flood risk and coastal management strategy that will protect these habitats.”

Bill Cooper, ABPmer’s managing director, said: “We work very closely with the Environment Agency and it is always satisfying to have such positive feedback from them. This award represents ABPmer’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of research, and we will continue to build on our wealth of experience whilst undertaking the Greater Thames Estuary Coastal Habitat Management Plan.”
